TOWER

2022 20 Min. Germany / Turkey

"Tower" is a 20-minute fictional film that explores the complex relationship between two sisters separated when one moves abroad to Berlin, reflecting the broader phenomenon of recent immigration from Turkey to Western European metropolises. Set against the backdrop of Berlin, a key hub for this "new wave" of migration, the film delves into the adaptation challenges faced by newcomers, the social trauma unfolding in Turkey, and the memories of the turmoil driving this exodus. Through this multi-layered narrative, Tower aims to offer a deep emotional exploration and foster a reciprocal understanding of the ongoing political and social crises.
